• It didn't take long for former Rutgers star Mike Rosario to choose a new school. The 6-foot-2 sophomore signed with Florida on Sunday morning during his first official visit since getting released from Rutgers on Wednesday. "The biggest thing that Florida offered me was, 'We're going to win,' " Rosario said. "That's something that I've missed doing. Now I'm going to have the chance to do it with a lot of good guys that are passionate about the game."

• Commitments from Brandon Knight and Josh Selby last week make Cory Joseph the top available guard prospect in the nation, but the point guard said he won't decide among UConn, Texas, Minnesota, Villanova and UNLV for at least another week or two. Then again, McDonald's All-American C.J. Leslie insists he's also still considering UConn and Florida even though the general consensus in recruiting circles is that Kentucky and NC State are the co-favorites.

• Arizona officials met with the NCAA Committee on Infractions for five hours Saturday in Indianapolis in the wake of NCAA accusations centering around money Lute Olson raised to fund an on-campus tournament featuring Wildcats recruits. The school must now wait two months to learn whether self-imposed recruiting restrictions will be a sufficient penalty to satisfy the NCAA.

• Despite nine straight losses to end last season, the departure of three of his top players and a looming NCAA investigation, Oklahoma coach Jeff Capel was in positive spin mode on Friday in his first public comments of the offseason. "In order to get better, sometimes you have to cleanse," Capel said. "Sometimes you have to lose some things. Sometimes things have to fall apart in order for them to fall back together."

• Siena senior point guard Ronald Moore was arrested near campus early Sunday morning for driving while intoxicated. Police said Moore's eyes were bloodshot, his speech was slurred and they smelled alcohol on his breath.

• The bracket for the 2010 Paradise Jam Tournament will feature NCAA tournament teams Xavier and Clemson. If Xavier survives Iowa in the first round, the Musketeers will meet either Seton Hall or Alabama in the semifinals, while Clemson will face either St. Peters or Old Dominion if it defeats Long Beach State in its opener.

• Reason No. 36,543 why Kentucky basketball is back: At least 30 percent of all Lexington households tuned in to watch SEC games against LSU, Tennessee and Georgia, whereas the highest-rated Olympic event, the opening ceremonies, only drew 24 percent. "While the Olympics certainly did well, there's just no beating UK basketball as a strong lead-in," WKYT news director Robert Thomas said. "On the days or evenings when we had a game leading into news, it was a tremendous boost."
