Breakfast Buffet: Notre Dame wins! (But definitely not on the football field)

1. Notre Dame did win an important game Monday night. Oh sure, the Irish came up four touchdowns short against Alabama and sentenced us all to 12 more months of deifying SEC football. But Mike Brey's basketball team went on the road and won its 12th straight game, beating No. 21 Cincinnati 66-60. Jerian Grant had 19 points to lead the Irish.

2. The most fun moment of that game for Cincinnati fans probably came after the final buzzer. School president Santa Ono had his head shaved at midcourt, following through on his word that he'd cut off all his hair if either the Cincinnati basketball or football teams won 10 straight games this season. The basketball Bearcats opened this season 10-0 with a win over Marshall last month.

3. Fun story in Sports Illustrated last week on the small fraternity of players who have managed to score 100 or more points in a game. The impetus for the story, of course, was Grinnell College's Jack Taylor, who scored an incredible 138 points against Faith Baptist on Nov. 20 to smash the NCAA record for points in a game.

4. Jeff Withey doesn't project to be a future NBA all-star the way Anthony Davis does, but you can make a case the Kansas center is having a better defensive season this year than last year's No. 1 pick did in his lone college season. As ESPN.com's Eamonn Brennan notes, Davis had 58 blocks and 29 fouls in his first 13 games last season. Withey has 68 blocks and only 16 fouls. (Also worth noting: Withey set a record for blocked shots in the NCAA tournament last March)

5. Below the radar stat I found interesting: How did Sacramento State win a game despite missing 26 free throws? The Hornets went to the free throw line an astonishing 55 times against Southern Utah on Monday night, sank only 29 of their foul shots and still handed the Thunderbirds a 64-59 loss. It was Southern Utah's first loss in Big Sky play after a surprising 3-0 start.

In addition to studying film of the world's best basketball players, it appears UNLV's Mike Moser also emulates one of the world's most well-known professional wrestlers. Moser shows off his impression of the WWE's the Undertaker in the video above.
