Wichita State point guard D.J. Bowles was released from the hospital Sunday five days after collapsing during a workout at Koch Arena and being taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

Bowles, a 6-foot-2 freshman from Cleveland, Tenn., will undergo further testing to determine what caused him to collapse. Members of his family traveled to Wichita to be with him. It's unknown when he will be able to resume workouts and normal activities.

“Honestly it’s a shock to me and his mom because he’s been a healthy child all his life. You know? With no problems,” Darren Bowles, DJ’s father, told KSN TV.

Bowles thanked Wichita State fans over the weekend for their support via Twitter.
