Utah honored the late-Rick Majerus on Saturday first by unveiling his trademark white sweater hung in the rafters alongside retired jerseys of some of the best players he coached and next by upsetting Colorado 58-55 in an emotional day at the Huntsman Center.

It was the second time this season Utah has paid tribute to its former coach who died of heart failure in Los Angeles in December. The school produced a video tribute to Majerus shortly after his death that it showed during a game against Boise State. The Utes won that game in what was arguably their best victory prior to upsetting the Buffs on Saturday.

Majerus built the Utes into a perennial power in the western half of the country during his Utah tenure (1989-2004), including taking the Utes to the 1998 national title game. Majerus' teams – four different programs – produced only one losing season in 25 seasons.

While Utah paid tribute to Majerus on Saturday, the team Majerus coached just last season has been doing its best to honor its former coach all season. Saint Louis dispatched Dayton 81-52 on Saturday to win its fourth straight and remain atop the A-10.
