Notre Dame’s ‘Shamrock Shake’ uniforms were the talk of Madison Square Garden
NEW YORK — Aligning yourself with arguably the most popular fast food milkshake of all-time should be a good thing, but Notre Dame is earning the Shamrock Shake comparisons for probably all the wrong reasons.
There's been no shortage of scrutiny for the much-discussed Adidas adizero uniform system, though some teams' looks deserve it more than others. And while Cincinnati sported its new look to a chorus of mostly mixed reviews, the jarring neon look of Notre Dame's uniforms earned much harsher treatment.

Jay Bilas, for one, thought the hot pastel style was hilariously disgusting, evoking the comparison of the seasonal milkshake after its been briefly digested.
To be honest, the white look the Irish sported in their opening win against Rutgers isn't nearly as bad as it could have been, with accents in multiple shades of green that look pretty sharp. But the all green? Whew. Still, does it even compare to the famous neon explosion Baylor broke out last season (which was also, of course, Adidas)? Both still feel like cheap stunts, a feeling reinforced by the detail shared by TheFightingIrish Twitter and Instagram accounts pictured to the left.
Pretty cool dedication. Wait. Blue and gold, you say? Well, there's no better tribute to the history of blue and gold than ignoring both colors entirely in a uniform scheme that looks a bit like it was accidentally mixed with old glow sticks in the wash. How appetizing.
