Colorado guard Askia Booker skies to block dunk attempt from USC 7-footer (Loop)

Colorado lists guard Askia Booker at 6-foot-2, but that is being generous by a couple inches.

It's probably safe to say Southern Cal reserve center D.J Haley thought Booker was a little bigger than that when Booker came across the lane to swat away the 7-footer's dunk attempt in the first half Saturday in Boulder.

At the top of his jump, Booker was probably 3 feet in the air.

In 85 career games played, Booker had managed only two blocks prior to his rather impressive denial against the Trojans. The block was one of seven in the first half by the Buffaloes and allowed them to jump to 18-point lead before ultimately winning 83-62.

"When I have my momentum going, I feel I can do anything," Booker said with a wry smile after the game.

Booker, a junior from Los Angeles, is Colorado's third leading scorer this season but is taking on an even larger role for his team in the wake of a season-ending knee injury to starting point guard Spencer Dinwiddie.

Booker finished the USC game with a workmanlike 13 points, four rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block he'll remember forever.
