This week's matchup pits the Houston Texans against the San Francisco 49ers. Kickoff at Candlestick Park in San Francisco is scheduled for 8:30pm ET (10/6).
The Texans are coming off back-to-back losses to the Ravens and Seahawks, a two-game stretch over which their turnover differential is minus-4. Houston's offense has been consistently excellent this year, outgaining opponents by over 600 yards. Matt Schaub is averaging nearly 300 passing yards per game and the team as a whole is gaining 4.7 yards a carry.
After losing by a combined 43 points over Week 2 and 3, the Niners rebounded with a dominant Thursday-night victory against the Rams last week. Despite opening eyes in last year's playoffs and delivering a monster performance in San Francisco's season-opening win over the Packers, Colin Kaepernick has been very average of late. This was a pretty popular preseason pick for a Super Bowl matchup, but despite the high expectations, both teams sit at 2-2. Expect this one to be among the most physical matchups of the year. The squad that comes out on top will be the one that can control the game on the ground and limit turnovers.
