Watch: Jenner’s slapshot leads to his stick in the net, not the puck

Blue Jackets rookie forward does something hockey fans don't see every day

Boone Jenner has ripped many a slapshot from the top of the left circle, some of which actually deposit the puck in the back of the net. The Blue Jackets forward has never taken a shot, however, like the one he attempted in the third period of Thursday night's win over the Flyers. Jenner's stick broke in two pieces after making contact with the puck, and the half he wasn't holding flew past goalie Ray Emery and into the back of the net. If the rookie could figure out a way to reproduce the feat, he'd never lose a trick shot competition for the rest of his life.
