Mike Shanahan has decided to sit Robert Griffin III for the Redskins matchup with the Falcons this weekend, opting instead for backup Kirk Cousins. The decision is the latest development in the ongoing saga in Washington, which has seen plenty of drama between Shanahan, Griffin and owner Dan Snyder this season, not to mention the team's abysmal 3-10 record.
NBCSN football analyst Shaun King (@realshaunking) joined Dave Briggs (@davebriggstv) on SportsDash to weigh in on the situation, which he believes is being mishandled. "Mike Shanahan is trying to deceive the public," said King. "He's saying 'I'm benching RGIII to preserve his health.'" But King is not buying what the coach is selling. "He and his son, Kyle Shanahan, believe that Kirk Cousins fits their system better than RGIII, and this is their way to show it."
