The Pirates ended a historically inept stretch on Tuesday night, snapping a streak of 20 consecutive losing seasons with a win over the Brewers. With 23 games left to play, Pittsburgh has not only guaranteed itself a record of at least .500, but it also has a distinct chance to make the playoffs. In fact, they're likely to win their division, leading St. Louis in the N.L. Central by 1 1/2 games.
The Rays, on the other hand, are 13-17 in their last 30 games and have slipped behind the A's for the A.L. wild card.
