Dwight Howard's reign in Los Angeles lasted just one season, and according to CSN Bay Area's Ric Bucher his short stay was due, at least in part, to the team's refusal to get rid of Kobe Bryant and Mike D'Antoni.
Howard reportedly wanted Bryant amnestied and D'Antoni fired, and when the team made it clear that neither option was one they were willing to entertain, the ninth-year center took his ball and went to Houston. These rumors fit with Howard's alleged demands in Orlando, where he reportedly wanted Stan Van Gundy fired.
