There was a collective gasp that emanated from New England on Wednesday when Tom Brady went down during Patriots practice. The quarterback was rolled into after releasing a ball downfield, and he remained on the ground following the play.

As it turns out, Brady suffered a mild sprain and is in no danger of missing regular-season time, but the panicked reaction of fans to the injury scare is an accurate representation of Brady's importance to the Patriots' success.

Mike Florio, who notes that the two-time MVP was not wearing his knee brace when the nearly disastrous play occurred, says that Brady must take precaution on and off the field for the Patriots to avoid being a mess this year.
