Mickelson has found ‘the secret’ leading up to British

Coming off a win 150 miles away at Castle Stuart, Phil Mickelson is very optimistic about this week's British Open at Muirfield. His game, often subject to big ups and downs, has been fairly consistent since his runner-up finish at the U.S. Open, and one thing in particular seems to be the key -- his putting stroke.

In his pre-tournament press conference on Tuesday, Mickelson said he has found "the secret" to rolling it well on the greens. While he wouldn't give up any specific details, the 2011 runner-up said he's been feeling it with the flat stick for a while now.

"Every single day now for the last year it’s been the same thing," Mickelson said, "and I’ve been putting really well.”
