Mad Dash: UF receiver's regrettable retweet about his quarterback

For a brief stretch on Saturday, it looked liked Florida could go blow-for-blow with Alabama and perhaps turn down the heat on head coach Will Muschamp's seat. It wasn't to be, and much of the blame fell on quarterback Jeff Driskel, who was just 9-of-28 passing for 93 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. That's when a Gators fan account on Twitter called for a QB change. Florida receiver Demarcus Robinson retweeted the message, then quickly deleted it. But the damage was done, despite what he tweeted afterward.

Another athlete that saw an ugly side of Twitter this weekend was Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, who faced a stream of racial abuse in response to his enjoyment of rival Manchester United's 5-3 loss to Leicester City. Police are now investigating the sources of many of the messages.

But on a lighter note, social media also gave us a reason to smile when basketball writer Steve McPherson posted an adorable video of his young daughter's imitation of Allen Iverson's infamous "practice" press conference rant.
