Mad Dash: Premature tweet from Texas governor seems to jinx Astros

Oh, the perils of a high-profile Twitter account in 2015. Texas governor Greg Abbott's office account tweeted out congratulations to the Astros for advancing to the ALCS while they were beating the Royals 6-2. Not long after, they'd lost 9-6 and some serious backtracking needed to be done. Abbott's personal Twitter account quickly corrected the tweet that had been planned and sent from his office account, but as you might expect, plenty of people on Twitter still felt like the jinx took over. We don't believe in Twitter jinxes, but there are probably a few fans in Houston right now who definitely do.

Speaking of tweets from the ALDS, one public account nailed their chance to chime in on the game. The Kansas City P.D. account, like most of the city, was not too pleased with a replay review leading to Terrance Gore being called out at second base. He was initially called safe, then out after the controversial review. The police department's reaction: "That call was a crime."

Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions may just want to stay in London following their game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 1 after the way this season has gone, and if one group of fans has their way, that might happen. OK, it definitely won't, but the fans have started a petition to have the players' passports revoked once they get across the Atlantic. We know the team is 0-5, but this still feels excessive. And as Americans, we're definitely not prepared to surrender Megatron to another country. No chance.
