Mad Dash: NFL wife goes on Twitter rant against league

On the surface, it sure seemed like Brent Grimes had himself a weekend to remember. He pulled off an incredible interception at the Pro Bowl, and walked away with more casual fans knowing his name than did before. But it turns out the weekend was a bit of a nightmare, according to his wife Miko, who vented her fury in one of the greatest Twitter rants in recent memory. Mrs. Grimes started by saying she was angry with the NFL for docking her husband's pay for skipping out early from Pro Bowl practice to check on her after oral surgery. Then she hammered the league's seeming indifference towards women. Before she was done, she'd touched on concussions, the stupidity of Thursday night football, the greed of the league keeping more cash for itself instead of treating players better, and something of a conspiracy to select JJ Watt as Defensive MVP over her husband. No stone went unturned, and no stance was left ambiguous. It was about as scorching as a rant can be.

Note to college football players on Twitter: Don't brag about subpar grades. Coach will always be watching, as was the case when Penn State defensive back Bryant Harper proudly tweeted that he'd gotten a "B" on an exam without much effort. Head coach James Franklin quickly admonished his player, who backtracked faster than he does against opposing receivers.

Finally, a few car collectors (and perhaps racing fans) won some pretty special auctions this week when they bid on Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s rides on eBay. Junior was selling a '99 Corvette and a '55 Bel Air, and threw in a chance to have the car autographed and hand-delivered by the NASCAR star himself. We're just bummed we didn't have time to get an office pool going before the auctions ended.
