Mad Dash: Derek Holland has Jobu doll to go with 'Wild Thing' hairdo

If you caught Derek Holland's start for the Rangers on Sunday against the Orioles, you probably noticed his new haircut, a fantastic ode to Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn from the baseball movie classic "Major League." But if you think Holland's dedication stops at his locks, think again. A fan sent him a Jobu doll, so now he's got the hair and the mascot to team up for the proper mojo for a playoff stretch run. Holland further went with the movie theme by photoshopping his and his teammates' faces onto a still from the movie on Instagram. If the Rangers pull off a run like the Indians did in the movie, we'll know it started with the hair and the Jobu doll.

You expect to see famous NBA players spending their summers vacationing in exotic places, or shopping for new luxury vehicles, or hanging with celebrities. Dwyane Wade is doing things a little differently, spending time in the gym — to play dodgeball. We'd say it looks like fun, but we're positive we'd have to change pants after Wade came charging at us with one of those balls.
