Mad Dash: College Station furniture store owes patrons over $1 million thanks to Texas A&M upset

Crazy promotional gimmicks tied to sporting events are often tiresome, mostly because they never pan out. Sometimes they do, and it's just not that interesting. And then every once in a while, they pay off big, both for the beneficiaries and us, the immensely entertained public. Such is the case with the Ashley Furniture in College Station, Texas, which promised that purchases in the month of August would be covered if the Aggies beat South Carolina by more than 10 points. They did that and more last night with a 52-28 thumping of the Gamecocks, and now store owner Mark Wilks has to pay up. But don't wince too much, he planned for the worst.

Speaking of strange ideas, Royals catcher Salvador Perez revealed that he wears ladies perfume during games, and even better, umpires love it. Now we know what's behind that AL Central surge by Kansas City.

And while Tim Tebow was winning the internet with his Steve Spurrier impression, a much better one of Michigan head coach Brady Hoke popped up by former lineman Elliott Mealer. It's best Hoke impression we've seen yet.
