Tank Johnson has had his share of issues with firearms. He was arrested in 2005 for possession of a handgun in his car and the following year, police found six irresponsibly stored firearms in his home. Later in 2006, he was sentenced to jail time for possessing a weapon without proper identification.
With Johnson's history in mind, it comes as no surprise that the NFL would employ the former tackle to speak to rookies about the consequences of carrying weapons. As a speaker at the rookie symposium, Johnson told first-year players there is no reason to carry firearms. Michelle Beadle agrees.
