The New York Yankees and Premier League club Manchester City have partnered to buy a new MLS team that will be located in the Bronx. The New York City Football Club will begin competition in 2015.
Since the Red Bulls already provide a soccer presence in the Tri-State market, Michelle Beadle and the gang on The Crossover debate whether the team will offer anything new to fans of the sport. The venture could go one of two ways: 1) Create a perfect geographic rivalry in the country's largest media market or 2) Cost both teams fans and dollars through cannibalization.
