With the Lions owning the tie-breaker over the Bears in the NFC North standings, the Bears needed either the Ravens to win on Monday night or have the Vikings beat the Lions in Week 17, to even have a chance at winning the division.
Therefore, Monday night’s game between the Ravens and Lions in Detroit was watched closely by the Bears. Justin Tucker was able to hit a 61-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter to secure the victory for the Ravens.
"Now that we control our own destiny, you know, I'm kind of at ease," Brandon Marshall said. "It actually makes it easier that we're in this position right now. Last year we had to wait until the last game of the season ... It was so devastating - one of the worst feelings of my career."
