NBC's Bob Costas delivered a message at halftime of the network's Sunday Night Football coverage, addressing the topic of the Washington Redskins' nickname.
Costas contends that the team's moniker, which is the subject of an ongoing national debate, fails to honor Native American culture the way that nicknames like "Braves," "Warriors" or "Chiefs" do. Instead, Costas says, "Redskins" reads as a slur to which many take offense.
