After a very uncharacteristic blowout loss at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII, the Denver Broncos now embark on the 2014 season with only one number in mind: 35.
They ended their season with a 43-8 loss on the world’s biggest stage and that 35-point loss is still fresh on the minds of everyone in Denver.
“We use it every day and we come in and say we lost by 35,” Broncos defensive end Malik Jackson recently told the media. “That’s our motivation. Whenever somebody gets tired, we just say ‘35’ and they start picking it up again.”
Mike Florio is all for the motivation tactic the Broncos are employing. “I think it’s great to find a way – even if it’s a little silver lining in that ugly, dark cloud – to spin that 35-point blowout into a positive,” Florio says.
