Mad Dash: Which NFL team's fans are the most profane?

Which NFL team has the worst fans on Facebook and Twitter? If you've got a team, you almost certainly have an opinion of which group is the most obnoxious. Lucky for us, Proofpoint Nexgate researchers mined the social media activity of the fans of the 12 NFL playoff teams, and revealed by far the most profane group on the web. So congratulations to the Pittsburgh Steelers and their fans, who were profane in over 6 percent of social media messages, blowing away the Baltimore Ravens, who came in second with a mark of 1.6 percent. How did America's team do? Dallas Cowboys fans are by far the most active on social media, registering 247,057 comments during the monitoring period while Green Bay Packers fans came in second at 157,200. Still, neither were even in the top five when it came to profane comments. The Patriots, Lions, and Bengals rounded out the rest of the top foul-mouthed five, and no surprise, Patriots fans' profane comments skyrocketed after deflate-gate. Still, no one came close to the good folks of Pittsburgh. Are we sure the Terrible Towel wasn't invented to clean up Steelers fans' dirty mouths?

The Los Angeles Lakers will always have a soft spot for Pau Gasol, even if he left for greener pastures when he signed with the Chicago Bulls. To show just how far their appreciation goes, the Lakers honored Gasol's return against the Lakers on Thursday by giving out "Thanks Pau" shirts to every fan in attendance, a classy move, to say the least. It's pretty rare to see a team honor a visiting player, but that's what Gasol meant to the Lakers.

Much like the guys at Big League Stew, we long for the return of the Houston Astros' "Tequila Sunrise" jersey. And while the Astros aren't bringing it back just yet, their Triple-A affiliate Fresno Grizzlies are all over it, announcing this week that they'll wear the uniforms on a special tribute night later this year. Houston's done some cool things with their uniforms in recent years, so we're hoping this is just another nudge toward the colorful classic.
