Video: Mike Tyson’s halftime interview goes a little awry

Poor Mike Tyson. He's not the most eloquent of public speakers, and it's possible he may have been a bit overserved by the time halftime hit during Wednesday's New York Knicks/Sacramento Kings game. Still, fighting through those mitigating factors, the former champ still tried to pull a brave and smiling face during his mumbly, awkward interview with MSG Network's Jill Martin.

The volume is a little high in this clip and, yes, there's a curse word in there. Watch:

I'd heard about this interview before actually seeing it, expecting much worse. Despite whatever was clouding his answers, Tyson was pleasant, smiling and pretty appropriate despite that S-bomb. And the attempted handshake at the end? We're still in Mike's corner after this one.

Not that bad. It was a filler with a former athelete. No shocker.

People like you give journalism a bad name. It's rich for someone like you, who does not understand the basic rules of grammar, like punctuation, run-on sentences, and subject-verb agreement, to devote an entire column to the language shortcomings of others. Get a life, man.

Tyson was friendly and had a great personality, he was quite nice, I like the new Tyson, sometimes you have to fall to get up again to be a better person, hes just trying to fit in and I think hes doing a great job of it. GO TYSON!

I would say dumb questions designed to embarrass Mike, who we know did not have the best of educations. Shame on those trying to make a fool out of a good man that gave all he could and did show us the best boxing ever seen in the world !

I was glad he chose that bite he took on Holyfield as his biggest sports do over... I lost a lot of respect for him during that bout but i gained it back a decade later with his honesty. 34 consecutive KOs in the first 4 rounds... baaaad bad man.

Funny, I was never crazy bout Tyson as a fighter; but absolutely love the guy now. Like George Foreman before him--great transformation.
