As KD noted in Wednesday's trip Behind the Box Score, Andre Iguodala(notes) had an inauspicious return from right Achilles tendinitis on Tuesday, missing all seven of his field-goal attempts and scoring just one point in the Philadelphia 76ers' 111-103 loss at the hands of the Indiana Pacers. He did, however, dish seven dimes, including one of the prettiest helpers these beautiful blue eyes have seen in quite some time — seriously, you guys, my gaze is transfixing — to bring a first-quarter fast break to the satisfying conclusion of a Marreese Speights(notes) slam.
While the athleticism required for Iguodala to corral Jodie Meeks'(notes) pass in mid-leap and whip a redirect behind his head to the streaking Speights, all in one fluid motion, is what earns the headline, what I dig most is how on-point the delivery was. Iggy hits Speights right in the hands, in stride, with ample room and time to take a step, elevate and finish. Not only did Andre start the break by deflecting the ball away from Indiana counterpart Danny Granger(notes), but he finished it by putting his big man in position to make a play, which he did, with authority. Neat stuff.
