Sure, you've already heard Victor Oladipo belt out Bill Withers' 1971 hit "Ain't No Sunshine" as part of a duet recorded during the 2013 Spirit of Indiana Showcase at Indiana University. But before Thursday, you probably hadn't heard him sing it with an affable and well-regarded former host of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" — unless, of course, you were at Meredith Vieira's hella exclusive 2013 NBA draft afterparty (drafterparty). And you weren't. Because I totally would have seen you there.
Thankfully, the folks at Fox Sports 1's "Crowd Goes Wild" filled in that gap in our Oladipo-crooning lives on Thursday, when the Orlando Magic rookie punctuated his appearance on the talk show by grabbing a stool, gripping a mic and getting into the groove with the one and only Regis Philbin:
The 2013 No. 2 overall pick acquits himself well, which stands to reason, since he's A) got a nice voice and B) is clearly very comfortable with this particular selection. He also gets to shine in comparison to Reg, who's got sort of a latter-day Leonard Cohen meets 33-RPM William Shatner thing going here; on one hand, it's not the most pleasant thing to listen to, but on the other, making sure the guest looks great is just good, professional hosting. That's why Regis is one of the best!
