Ty Lawson breaks down Kirk Hinrich in Nuggets win

The Denver Nuggets have hit upon a sparkling run of form after opening the season as one of the NBA's most inconsistent. After a 2-7 start, the Nuggets entered Tuesday night's home again against the Chicago Bulls sporting a four-game winning streak and the chance to move their record up to .500.

They did not waste their time in taking advantage of the opportunity. Playing in Denver's high altitude on the second night of a back-to-back — always a tall order — Chicago trailed by 10 both after one quarter and heading into the final period. Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson also made veteran Kirk Hinrich look like a rookie on this fantastic dribble and dish to Timofey Mozgov for two points:

Lawson finished with 20 points and 12 assists, but his biggest moment came in the final seconds as he hit a jumper to withstand a Bulls comeback and ice the game. Denver came away with a 114-109 victory and will look to extend their streak in Phoenix on Wednesday night vs. the Suns.

Meanwhile, the Bulls got much worse injury news than Hinrich's broken ankles. Derrick Rose left the game after 10 minutes with tightness in his left hamstring and did not return. Head coach Tom Thibodeau may have the right idea in wanting Rose to find a rhythm, but that point is moot unless he can't stay on the court.
