Taiwanese animators tackle the Kevin Love trade, ruin Anthony Bennett's day (Video)

As soon as news broke Thursday that the Cleveland Cavaliers had reached an agreement to trade for Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Kevin Love, the NBA world let its collective imagination wander. The Cavs turned an already terrific summer into something even greater, having morphed from a lottery team into a title favorite within a few weeks due to good lottery fortune and the return of LeBron James. With Love, James, and Kyrie Irving in the starting lineup, Cleveland can now begin to turn this dream scenario into a winning reality.

Before we all focus on the details of the situation, though, it may be best to reflect on just how remarkable this deal has been for all involved. Thankfully, the famous animation experts at Taiwan's TomoNews are here to help. In this new clip, the Tomo crew breaks down Love's move to Cleveland, LeBron's giddiness, and Andrew Wiggins's apparently quite harsh banishment to Minnesota. Watch it below (via PBT):

Truth be told, this is not one of the studio's more inspired efforts, even if it's hilarious to watch Love and LeBron frolic on a beach when finally united. I also don't know why anyone thought that Cleveland has the characteristics of a tropical paradise, but I could be way off here. I've only been there once, for a few hours, and didn't get the best look at Lake Erie.

If you're able to make it to the end of the video, though, then you will see a truly devastating image. Second-year forward Anthony Bennett, a massive disappointment after becoming the first-overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, is also heading out of Cleveland in the Love-Wiggins deal. Tomo included him in the clip, but they decided to render Bennett, who is known for being a bit overweight for a professional basketball player, as an extremely obese guy who can't even fit through a Sixers-themed hoop when launched away from Cleveland.

It's up to the individual viewer to decide if this representation is in good taste. All I can say is that my main takeaway from this video was a feeling of immense sympathy for Anthony Bennett. If he does see the clip, I hope he uses it as inspiration to do better. No one wants to be this kind of punchline.
