Photo: Cultural Ambassador Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Hillary Clinton

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (NBA)

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton met with Hall-of-Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the NBA's All-Time Leading Scorer and a New York Times' best-selling author, to discuss his new role as a global Cultural Ambassador. [...]

"I am excited and honored to serve my country as a Cultural Ambassador for the U.S. Department of State," said Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who has focused his efforts after his NBA career on engaging youth through socially-minded projects and education. "I look forward to meeting with young people all over the world and discussing ways in which we can strengthen our understanding of one another through education, through sports, and through greater cultural tolerance."

Kareem's pained expression in this picture is now the Internet's all-time leading scorer.

Hillary looks good in a Lakers uniform. Sign her up. The team is in dire need of a good point guard.

"Kareem's pained expression in this picture is now the Internet's all-time leading scorer."

When I saw the photo, I said to myself: this is why Kareem never became a coach. Because he's always being caught with that type of look on his face. That was a personal thought. Then I read the quote I put up.

Kareem just seems to be disconnected to the idea of "fun." I'm sure he would have been a very successful coach, but no one could get past the serious demeanor to give him the shot.

You know, some say Michael Jordan is the best player ever. But, Kareem's career is just as brilliant as Jordan's was. Is there any reason why Kareem should be considered the greatest player of all-time?

Congrats Cap! Well deserved. And Hillary, can you put a call in to the "powers to be" in L.A. and help get Kareem his "long overdue" bronze statue erected outside Staples Centers. And Elgin Baylor also!
