Apart from its reasonable facsimile of professional basketball, one of the most exciting parts of the "NBA 2K12" video game is its legends challenge feature in which gamers can play as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and 12 other Hall of Famers. Plus, as you unlock those legends, they can play with and against current players, too.
2K Sports wasn't content to limit their list of legends, though, so they've now added 45 more. You can find the full list after the jump (via EOB), complete with Hall of Fame shoo-ins, fan favorites, and one peculiar inclusion.

Well, that list is certainly very complete. From all-time legends like Mikan and Pettit to more recent favorites like King and Anderson, this game has something for everyone. If anything, there might even be too many legends, unless I'm unfamiliar with a large group of fans who need their Rolando Blackman fix. Personally, I'm most excited for Connie Hawkins, especially if they rate him based on his peak playground years and not his older NBA seasons.
Then there's Shawn Bradley, who very clearly is only in this game to be dunked on. Without any challenge feature in which you have to block 10 shots or more, Bradley must be there to be posterized at will. Finally, some of the most exciting players in league history can embarrass Bradley. David Thompson's never had so much fun. (Well, OK, that's not true.)
One more note: You may think that Gheorghe Muresan is on this list for reasons similar to those tied to Bradley. You could not be more wrong. Muresan is a once-in-a-generation comedic talent.
