When LeBron James announced his return to Cleveland, Miami Herald columnist Dan Le Batard concluded his farewell column with a heartfelt "thank you" to the former Heat superstar for his contributions to the glorious sports drama that played out in South Beach over the previous four seasons.

Thank you for that, LeBron.

All of it.

Thank you.

A little campy, maybe, but a nice conclusion to what was a rational take on LeBron's departure. It wasn't burning jerseys, and that was a good thing. Graciousness generally comes across better than vitriol.

Except, Le Batard has apparently reversed course from that column, attempting to troll all of Cleveland. The ESPN Radio host pledged to start a Kickstarter campaign to crowd-fund a full-page ad in The Cleveland Plain Dealer and Akron Beacon Journal with the words, "You're Welcome," and "Sincerely, Miami Heat Fans." A mock-up of the advertisement posted on Twitter features a pair of championship rings.

Whether you're holding the door open for a lady or letting someone cut in line, a nice gesture loses its meaning if you feel the need to scream, "You're welcome." Then, you're just a passive-aggressive troll.

Thankfully, both the Beacon Journal and Plain Dealer opted not to give Le Batard the satisfaction, each issuing statements rejecting his proposed ad. He'll just have to quietly burn his No. 6 jersey now.

On a related note, the Miami Herald reports the Cavaliers and Heat will face each other in Miami for the first time this season on Christmas Day, so Le Batard and LeBron can exchange gifts in person.
