Kris Humphries’ sister, Kaela Humphries, signs plus-size modeling contract
In Tangentially Related to Basketball News today, Kaela Humphries — the older sister of New Jersey Nets power forward Kris Humphries, whom NBA-and-reality-TV fans might remember from her appearances alongside her brother on E! reality shows "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" — recently inked a contract to join New York modeling agency Ford Models, becoming part of the agency's plus-size division.
Before making the jump to Ford, Kaela Humphries had worked with Wilhelmina Models. She made her New York Fashion Week debut in 2011, walking the catwalk as part of designer Richie Rich's runway show, according to the New York Daily News. She has also appeared on the CW television network's reality program, "Remodeled."

Kaela Humphries took to Twitter on Monday to share the good news: "So excited to be working with the team @fordmodels ! This is going to be a great 2012! Stay tuned:)"

In an episode of "Keeping Up," Kris confided to his sister that he was concerned about moving forward with the relationship, asking "What if it gets worse from here?" Somehow, Kaela managed to convince him that Kim K. was "the one."
On this score, Kaela Humphries appears to have been pretty incorrect.
Not only did Kris and Kim's whirlwind romance, um, not end well, but the crush of coverage surrounding their relationship, marriage and divorce after just 72 days of matrimony turned the public's opinion of the forward (an opinion that previously didn't even exist) very ugly. A poll released just before the start of the NBA's lockout-shortened 2011-12 season revealed that more people surveyed hated Humphries than any other player in the league.
After six years of mostly undistinguished service with the Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks and Nets, Humphries emerged on the scene as one of the league's top rebounders last year. He finished the 2010-11 season fifth in the league in rebounds per game, grabbing a higher percentage of available rebounds than any other player save for Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Humphries, who signed a one-year, $8 million contract to return to the Nets in December, is averaging 13.1 points and 10.4 rebounds per game this season.
