Kobe Bryant’s left and right shoes are purposely two different colors, and named ‘Snake Pools,’ because why not?

Kobe Bryant appeared to wear one purple shoe and one gold shoe in his team's exhibition opener on Sunday night. Purple laces for the purple shoe, gold laces for the gold one, all sorts of "preseason" fun during what is typically a boring October for NBA fans. It turns out, of course, that all of this was planned weeks in advance by your bored friends at Nike, who recently supplied the two-time NBA Finals MVP with shoes named "Snake Pools."

From Dime Magazine's Andrew Grief:

[...] designed by Eric Avar. These Laker-colored editions have opposite colorways on each foot, resulting in a mirror Laker image that you'll likely see on the road when the Lakers wear their purple uniforms. No release date or pricing is known yet.

Makes sense. You can see the scoreboard from either side of the arena, why not give every Kobe fan a chance to see his shoes? Here's hoping the NBA's Player Association, currently without much help in the representation department, finds a way to keep Bryant's unorthodox kicks NBA-legal.
