Hey, did you know "frogging" was a thing? I sure didn't, but lo and behold, y'know, here it is. I mean, it's never crossed over to the degree of your plankings or Tebowing or horsemanning or any of those other things, but people seem to have been #frogging for at least a couple of years now. And now, those of us who like, follow and pay attention to the NBA have been put up on frogging, thanks to the San Antonio Spurs — specifically, Patty Mills, Manu Ginobili, Boris Diaw and Tiago Splitter:
All four Spurs balas shared the photo — evidently taken in Denver ahead of the Spurs' upcoming matchup with the Denver Nuggets — on Friday morning. Clearly, a 15-game winning streak that has seen San Antonio rise to sixth in the league in points scored per possession, fourth in the league in points allowed per possession and the No. 1 record in the NBA at a sterling 55-16 (three full games ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder for the top spot in the ludicrously competitive Western Conference) has the Spurs feeling pretty good at the moment. Well, non-Duncan and Ayres Spurs, at least. They're still a little spooked.
I'm still not too sure "frogging" is going to take off in NBA circles — unless, of course, JaVale McGee gets involved, because then all bets are off, Internet-wise — but if nothing else, I'm sure Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is glad backup point guard Mills is taking part in this kind of frogging rather than the brand where you literally grab frogs to eat them. He wants Patty to keep counting calories, after all.
