Tim Brown:

Ball Don't Lie

Better Summer League game-winner: Tony Mitchell’s putback dunk or Victor Oladipo’s stepback J?

Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Decide which of these two game-winning plays from Thursday's Orlando Summer League action was better, cooler, fitter, happier and more productive.

First up, this game-sealing putback slam by Detroit Pistons second-round pick Tony Mitchell, which gave Detroit a 78-77 win over the Miami Heat:

Next up, this slick brush-off-and-bucket by No. 2 overall pick Victor Oladipo, who dotted the multiple i's in the name of fellow lottery selection Michael Carter-Williams to give the Orlando Magic a 90-89 win over the Philadelphia 76ers:

I'm inclined to choose Oladipo, because — despite agreeing with the general tenor of the argument that "hero ball" is a poor end-of-game choice and thinking we shouldn't put too much stock in the reportedly much-improved jumper of someone who's still shot less than 38 percent in Orlando this week — it is tool to see someone splash an iso jumper over the top of a defender who's right in his mug (seriously, MCW did about as well as you can do on this one).

That said, I don't think we should sleep on Mitchell's game-sealer just because it was closer — it also showed that Mitchell might know how to use his unquestionably major athleticism in actual in-game situations, and, lest we forget, dunks are also cool. Plus, Mitchell's play was set up by a serious crossover by Korie Lucious, which I think should be factored into any decision, personally.
