Anthony Morrow pays tribute to Drazen Petrovic at Three-Point Contest

Anthony Morrow wears a Drazen Petrovic jersey at Saturday's Three-Point Contest.

On Monday, Kelly Dwyer noted that New Jersey Nets sharpshooter Anthony Morrow had plans to honor franchise legend Drazen Petrovic at Saturday's Three-Point Contest. It was a great idea to pay tribute to one of the Nets' best players ever, a guy who would have gone on to accomplish even more in the NBA if his life hadn't been cut short by a terrible car accident in 1993.

Morrow followed through on his promise, wearing a classic Petrovic jersey during his first-round run during the Three-Point Contest (screenshots via SB Nation). And while Morrow's 14 points weren't enough for him to advance to the competition's final round, most everyone agreed that his gesture made him the event's emotional winner.

After the jump, check out another angle on the jersey.Another angle of Morrow's Drazen Petrovic jersey.

Well done, Anthony. Not only did it make the competition more interesting — it also brought attention to a fallen hero on one of the league's biggest nights.

I just think of what would have happened at the 92 olympics had Yugoslavia not broken up due to civil war and had their national team from 90 or 91 there when they had a Young Vlade Divac Kukoc Petrovic among others they were a very good team that would have given the dream team a FIT in the Olympics

You clearly watched the 30 for 30 documentary, which was a terrific documentary. To answer your question.....they wouldn't have given The Dream Team "a fit". Team USA would've destroyed them by at least 20. But at least there would've been some hype going into the Gold Medal game....

USA would have won with ease, but at least they would have had one competitive game.

I was at the game in Corvallis, Oregon, pre-season, when Drazen was put in off the bench, his first ever NBA game (well pre-season) and he calmly takes the ball and shoots in a 30 footer.. Adelman shaking his head.. I've never forgotten it..

I tip my hat off to Anthony Morrow for the tribute because Drazen meant everything to the Nets and to himself with that being said he's a winner in my book

Petrovic spent the last three years of his NBA career (a career that lasted 6 seasons) on the Nets AND has his three best and most productive seasons as well.

      Classy move on Morrow's part.

Huge Petrovic fan, one of the best pure shooters period. Could take it to the hole or stop and pop it on you, had a complete game for a shooting guard.

I still have a basketball card where Petrovic is defending Reggie Lewis. It's a shame what happened to both of them.

Classy act, kudos to Morrow.....Drazen was an unbelievable player. Very few know that he died in Germany, on his way to meet the president of PAO Athens and sign a contract with the Greek for an astronomical figure.

As Louis mentioned, the former Yugoslavia Union would have had an unreal team with Drazen, Kukoc, Vrankovic, Divac, Paspalj, Perasovic, Savic, Zdovc, Danilovic, Sasha Jorjevic, Naumovski and Tabac. Nobody would ever beat the (only real) Dream Team 92, but they would have given em a run for their dinars....

Thats a fkn awesome jersey btw....
