You're flat-out not going to believe this. Over the weekend, the Pike's Peak International Hill Climb went off, and as sometimes happens when you mix speed and altitude, things didn't always go so well. Above, Jeremy Foley and his co-driver Yuri Kouznetsov sailed off the Devil's Playground turn. Both had serious but not life-threatening injuries; as Foley posted on his Facebook page, "Yuri and I are ok. A little beaten up but nothing major. Thank you so much to everyone for the kindness and support! What a wonderful feeling to feel so loved!"
Better than flying off a hillside, that's for sure. Oh, but the carnage wasn't done; check out what happened when Paul Dallenbach stuck a throttle, and let's all be glad there were no spectators where he hit:
Dallenbach, a three-time Pike's Peak champ, also escaped uninjured. As he put it on Twitter: "Throttle suck on me, very scary. nothing left of the car. Took a flight 4 life ride but today was not my day to go. I am very sore."
Whew. Sometimes life just breaks your way.
