As we draw within sight of the Chase, let's take a look back at how the season has gone so far for NASCAR's top teams. We continue with Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, a team that's taken a step back after some promising strides in recent years.

Drivers: Juan Pablo Montoya (currently 20th in the standings), Jamie McMurray (currently 28th)

Wins: Zero.

Overall accolades: Three poles, zero wins, three top-5s, nine top-10s, three DNFs.

High point: It's a pretty sad commentary on your season when the high point is one of your drivers hammering open-wheel fans. But both Montoya and McMurray have struggled all season long. Montoya has had fits and starts of quality, while McMurray has never seemed to get anywhere fast.

Low point: Name it. Neither driver has done much to distinguish himself on-track this year; Montoya is best known for getting into dustups with Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman, while McMurray has been all but invisible. Sooner this year's over, the better for EGR.

Outlook for the Chase and beyond: Montoya's slim Chase hopes were pretty much snuffed out at Indy; he'll need two wins to even have a hope of making it in. McMurray, meanwhile, has been out of contention for months.
