Own the Dale Earnhardt hearse for just $1.5 million

Here's a one-of-a-kind collectible for the extraordinarily devoted, and possibly slightly deranged, Dale Earnhardt fan: The hearse which carried the Intimidator to his final resting place is on eBay for a mere $1.5 million.

While the listing doesn't have much info beyond that, Jalopnik notes that this is apparently the same hearse that sold just a few weeks back for only $8,800.

The hearse was used to transport Earnhardt's body from the airport to the Huntersville, N.C., mausoleum where Earnhardt was interred. The most recent owner, Bill McKeithan, posted an ad on Craigslist entitled "The Last Ride of #3," and sold it within hours. (He now regrets the sale.) The current owner, name undisclosed, apparently decided to jack up the price a wee bit.

As Jalopnik notes, there's not exactly a thriving market for celebrity hearses; the John F. Kennedy hearse is also on sale, and going unsold, at $1.5 million. Still, perhaps someone could talk our seller down a bit and preserve the Intimidator's final ride for eternity.

Fair warning, though: Anybody who buys this thing and paints a "3" on the side gets grandstand seats in hell.
