Brad Sweet wasn't clear of Jeb Burton on the backstretch and his car paid a heavy price.
Sweet made contact with Burton and his car went careening into the outside wall during Saturday night's Nationwide Series race at Kentucky. The impact was so severe that the right front wheel was sheared backwards as Sweet's car coasted down the backstretch.
The crash must have dislodged an oil line in the engine as well as a fire erupted under the hood as Sweet slowed to a stop on the backstretch. He climbed out of the car unhurt just before the car's extinguisher system squelched the flames.
