NASCAR introduces new paint scheme for Chase drivers

NASCAR is very proud of its new 16-driver Chase format, and has rolled out a new paint scheme so that you can be proud too.

With the new paint scheme, detailed above, drivers in the Chase will get a series of yellow enhancements to the splitter, the windshield nametag, and the roof number. That means you'll be able to spot the Chase competitors in a pack of cars at a glance, which, we will agree, is a pretty cool idea.

Of note: there will be three "knockout" races throughout the Chase (Dover, Talladega, and Phoenix), and after each one, four drivers will get booted from the Chase. Accordingly, these four drivers will lose their special paint scheme. We can only hope that there's a solemn ceremony as the name is ripped from the windshield while the driver and his disappointed owner watch.

The 10-race Chase begins on Sept. 14 in Chicago and ends on Nov. 16 in Homestead, Florida.
