Fastenal signs on with Carl Edwards for 17 2012 Sprint races

Who says sponsors are leaving NASCAR? Well, everybody says that, but at least a few replacements are showing up.

Fastenal, a construction supply company and a frequent supporter of Carl Edwards in the Nationwide Series, will move up to the big leagues in 2012. The company will sponsor Edwards' No. 99 Ford in 17 races in 2012. Edwards has run with Fastenal sponsorship in Nationwide since 2010, including the Nashville win this year you see above, and has had the company's sponsorship in one form or another since 1999.

Combined with the fact that Aflac is expected to return to the 99, albeit in a reduced capacity, this likely puts an end to rampant rumors that Home Depot was going to jump from Joe Gibbs Racing to sponsor Edwards.

Fastenal has been a NASCAR sponsor since a 2006 gig in the Truck Series, but didn't get its first win until 2010 with Edwards.
