Clip n’ save: Danica Patrick’s 2012 NASCAR schedule

Danica Patrick prepares for qualifying / Getty Images

Heard about this young lady making her Sprint Cup debut in the Daytona 500? Name of Danica Patrick. Criminally underpublicized, but we'll do our best here to let you know about her. Hey, if Tony Stewart thinks she has the talent to win the Daytona 500, that's good enough for us.

[Dan Wetzel: Danica Patrick's foray into NASCAR is not a PR stunt]

Patrick will be running 10 Sprint Cup events this year, and you can bet that each one will have a torrent of publicity and hype ... hype that, lest we forget, would not be present without her presence. So if you're near one of these tracks, get ready for the Neon Green Tide:

    Feb. 26: Daytona (Daytona 500)
    May 12: Darlington
    May 27: Charlotte (Coca-Cola 600)
    Aug. 25: Bristol
    Sept. 2: Atlanta
    Sept. 16: Chicagoland
    Sept. 30: Dover
    Nov. 4: Texas
    Nov. 11: Phoenix

Patrick will race one more as-yet-undetermined Sprint Cup race, depending on her level of development and needs. The Brickyard 400 at Indy in late July or a road course would appear to be a reasonable bet, though perhaps Stewart wants her to work at tracks where she has less experience.

Patrick will also run a complete Nationwide schedule, which you can see here. And if you miss a race, don't worry; chances are it might get covered somewhere on the Internet.

Pocono or Martinsville would be good for the other race. The 2 tracks she won't see in Nationwide and hasn't been to in IndyCar.

I agree 900%. She needs to race at tracks like Mville and pocono that she will not get seat time in during Nationwide competition...

Let's first see if she can get out of Daytona in one piece without looking ahead to the next race.

Did anybody else catch the *sigh* from Danica after about 15 minutes of answering stupid questions from DW?

No, because I was watching the Purdue game until she was off air.

It's time to split NASCAR into two groups....posers and racers.

She is a pretty woman who is trying to to win at car raceing.I know she is mean enough but i don't think she is strong enough to handle these high powered cars she is driving.

Like the 200 mph Indy cars she races?

I wonder how many cars godaddy has left. Their accountant is on the phone now talking to Tony asking him how much all of this is going to cost.

Danica Danica Danica Danica Danica Danica Danica Danica Danica....this is worst than Tebow mania! Least Tebow is a former Heisman/2 National titles and perhaps one of the greatest COLLEGE players of the last 25 years plus he's the most likable guy around. Tebow acually won (not pretty I know) games and let a crappy team to the nfl semi's...what has she done besides blame everyone else and got 1 cheap W in a race half the drivers did not attend and it was a cheap fuel mileage race....this is getting old fast....I would'nt mind if they brought up Ashley Force....,great talent and attitude

Do the folks at Nascar realize they are setting themselves and Danica up for a huge letdown by marketing the living crap out of her before the new season has even begun. I mean really....the sport continues its decline, but is Nascar that desperate for attention.

Looks like the Jay and Jay show at Yahoo sports moved on from the overhyped Kyle Busch train to the overhyped Danica train this year!

I like her schedule. That leaves David Reutimann with GARBAGE races to race in for Baldwin Racing. David really did get screwed Royally by both MWR and TBR. Guess the old saying is right on the point, "Good guys finish last". Or in Davids case, "Good guys get screwed more". Dave would be better if he went back helping his father. Less embarassment.

If Danica would present herself business-side-up more often, I think she would be better accepted by NASCAR fans.

Busbee: I read the article and then the comments. Almost nobody cares about Danica! I hope you find something else to write about. Whenever she gets a top 10 or better I have interest,
