NASCAR visits the land of "The Sopranos" and "The Wire" Tuesday night with the debut of 24/7: Jimmie Johnson, a four-part HBO documentary series focusing on the four-time champion's run up to the 2010 Daytona 500. Cameras are already rolling -- obviously, since the first episode is Tuesday, Jan. 26 -- and the series will conclude on the Tuesday after the Daytona 500. Check below for some clips from the show.

We got the opportunity to speak with HBO Sports President Ross Greenburg about the series, and the interview is below. It's good stuff; he talks forthrightly about the challenges of filming a sport different from any that HBO had done before, and he's also brimming with excitement at the idea of this series. If you're a fan of the 24/7 boxing series or Hard Knocks, HBO's football training camp series, you're going to dig this one. And there's the potential for more to come -- 24/7 Tony Stewart, anyone?

First, here's a clip of Jimmie and wife Chandra talking about the challenges of the reality series:

Next, we get a little deeper into the head of Chad Knaus:

HBO's 24/7: Jimmie Johnson runs Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. Eastern, with repeats and On-Demand performances available all over the place. It looks very, very good, and the fact that NASCAR is making inroads into HBO is even better.
