No sport offers up a more bewildering array of souvenir
crap memorabilia than NASCAR, and They Make It digs deep into the corners of the Internet to bring all that strangeness to light. Today: up close with a legend!
The item: "Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Any Given Day," a 2004 DVD you can get for about 10 bucks from RacingWin ... if you can find it at all, that is.
The deal: This DVD came out when Junior was at the absolute peak of his popularity, a driver constantly besieged by loyal, rabid fans and, in turn, rewarding them with win after win on the track. Ah, good times. Anyway, it'd be worth checking out just to see what Junior was like before the soul-crushing blows of a separation from his father's team and a years-long slog in the middle of the pack. Maybe it's a fine look back for Junior Nation, and maybe it's just too painful to watch. Anybody seen it? Give us your review in the comments below.
The hat tip: Always-loyal Marbles contributor Carol Fitzgerald contributed this one to the mix. Got some bizarre NASCARiana for us to check out? Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with the details. Get to it!
