BK Racing will have two different drivers in 2014.

Alex Bowman and Ryan Truex will be the team's two drivers for the upcoming season, replacing David Reutimann and Travis Kvapil. BK parted ways with Reutimann in January. Kvapil's court date for his October domestic violence arrest was moved to February 28.

Bowman ran last season in the Nationwide Series for RAB Racing. He had two poles, two top fives and six top 10s and finished 11th in the points standings. Truex, the younger brother of Martin Truex Jr., ran in three Sprint Cup Series races last season. He's run 35 career Nationwide races with one pole, two top fives and nine top 10s. His car number will change from 93 to 23.

It's a smart move for BK Racing to go in a younger direction. Both Reutimann and Kvapil were closer to the end of their careers than the beginning – a breakthrough was likely not going to happen. For a team at the back of the Cup garage, it's a worthy risk to enlist two younger drivers with potential. Sure, there's a chance that the repair bill could be higher, but there's also bigger chance for improvement.

And for Bowman and Truex, it's the right move too. Full-time Cup rides are at a premium. The opportunity to be in the series every week and establish a reputation is worth it, even if the chances of reaching victory lane are infinitesimal at first.

Last year, Kvapil finished 31st in the points standings while Reutimann was 33rd.
