As we count down to the 2013 Daytona 500, we're also counting down how we think the Chase will play out this season as predicted by Nick Bromberg, Jay Busbee, Jay Hart and Geoffrey Miller. So sit back, relax, and watch the 2013 Chase unfold before your very eyes. Though you should be warned, we picked Carl Edwards to win last year.

2012 Finish: 10th. Two wins (Pocono and Homestead)

      2013 Predictions:
      Bromberg: 12th
      Busbee: 8th
      Hart: 7th
      Miller: 9th

      Crew Chief: Alan Gustafson

When we last saw Gordon: He went to victory lane in the final race of the season and the race that turned out to be the swan song for Gordon's career-long partnership with sponsor DuPont. Before that, he was crashing Clint Bowyer in retaliation for contact the two made while racing together at Phoenix. And we don't need to explain that one again, do we?

Big Question for 2013: It's the question that's been omnipresent for the past five or six years, maybe even longer. Will Jeff Gordon win a fifth title? He had

Joe Gibbs Racing development driver Darrell Wallace Jr. will drive for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Camping World Truck Series in 2013.

Wallace, 19, will be the fourth African-American to run a full season in a NASCAR National Series after Wendell Scott (who went to victory lane at Jacksonville in 1963 in what was then the NASCAR Grand National Series), Willy T. Ribbs and Bill Lester. Wallace is a graduate of NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program, and made four NASCAR Nationwide Series starts for JGR in 2012.

He'll drive the No. 54 truck for KBM while still under contract with JGR. Busch will also run 10 Truck Series races this year in another KBM truck.

In his four starts last season, Wallace had three top 10s and started on the pole at Dover in the fall before finishing 12th. In three seasons in NASCAR's K&N Pro Series East, Wallace has six wins and finished second in the standings in 2011.

As evidenced by his Nationwide statistics, Wallace more than held his own in his step up to

2012 Finish: 5th. Three wins (Daytona, Talladega, Kansas)

      2013 Predictions:

      Hart: 6th
      Miller: 12th

      Crew Chief: Jason Ratcliff

When we last saw Kenseth: He was winning two Chase races but nowhere near title contention. Why? Well, his teammate Greg Biffle, who we profiled Thursday, was out of the hunt after three straight finishes in the teens to open the Chase. Kenseth started with an 18th and a 14th and then finished 35th at Dover to find himself in the basement of the Chase.

Big Question for 2013: This one is pretty obvious, eh? Will there be a transition period at Joe Gibbs Racing? Kenseth announced that he was leaving the only

When we last saw Biffle: He was proclaiming his Chase contention after winning at Michigan in August. It wasn't an outlandish claim; Biffle had just recorded his second victory of the year and had inherited the points lead, which he kept until the points reset for the Chase. But after starting the Chase in fifth, finishes of 13th, 18th and 16th in the first three races knocked him back to 11th and out of the title hunt.

Big Question for 2013: The first time that Biffle was a Sprint Cup Series points leader was in 2005,

Kurt Busch's move to Phoenix Racing to get back to "old-school" and fun racing didn't do much for his public standing according to Forbes. For the second year in a row, Busch made the publication's list of the top 10 most disliked athletes.

After coming in at No. 10 last year, Busch was No. 8 this season, behind Michael Vick and ahead of Kobe Bryant.

In 2012, Busch was suspended for the season's first race at Pocono after threatening a reporter after a Nationwide Series race at Dover when Busch was asked about racing against Justin Allgaier. That incident was preceded by a fracas in May after the Southern 500 at Darlington when Ryan Newman's crew was unhappy with Busch's driving on pit road after a late race caution.

In September, the 2004 champion announced that he would be driving for Furniture Row Racing in 2013 and made the move to the team for the final six races of 2012. In his final race for Phoenix Racing, he drove away after getting spun out with safety officials near his car

Wait, you all have Dale Earnhardt Jr. 11th. How is he 12th? We each submitted a top 12 and assigned points on a 12-1 sliding scale to each driver. Because of (slight) variation amongst our top 12 drivers, Junior ended up with the 12th highest average despite coming in at 11th in all of our rankings.

When we last saw Junior: He was missing two races in the Chase after sustaining a concussion in a crash at Talladega. Because he missed Kansas and Charlotte, he finished 12th in the Chase standings.

Jeff Gordon's DuPont No. 24 is getting a new look and name.

DuPont's paint business, a longtime sponsor of Gordon's No. 24, has been sold to the Carlyle Group and been rebranded as Axalta Coating Systems and the company will fulfill its 14 race sponsorship of Gordon's car.

“While these are big changes for us, our commitment to the No. 24 team, Jeff Gordon and NASCAR remains the same,” Axalta Coating Systems president John McCool said in a release. “We are proud to continue our sponsorship of the No. 24 team and Jeff Gordon in 2013."

“Our Performance Coatings business started the sponsorship of Jeff Gordon more than 20 years ago, and Axalta Coating Systems will continue the longest current sponsor-driver-team relationship in NASCAR in 2013.”

The changeover will be official in the second quarter of the year -- after the company's first scheduled race at Texas in April. According to the statement, other brands under the now Axalta label will fill Axalta's races until the change is

It's probably safe to say that NASCAR's new Sprint Cup Series car is already a winner in the eyes of International Speedway Corp. President John Saunders.

ISC owns both Daytona and Talladega, and when on a conference call last week discussing his tracks and the racing, Saunders had some strong words.

      From the Sporting News:

“The tandem racing, two or three events of that kind of stuff … was quite frankly pathetic,” Saunders said. “It's not what Talladega has been known for.”

In the last few years of the COT, drivers figured out that the fastest way around the track was in pairs, with the rear car glued to the back bumper of the lead car. The multiple duos of cars spread all around the track was a stark departure from the traditional pack racing at Daytona and Talladega. In an attempt to curb the tandem racing, NASCAR made rule-tweaks for engines to get hotter faster. And while the tweaks did limit the tandem drafting, it didn't prevent races from being decided over the final laps by
