Annett moves to HScott Motorsports; Yeley to drive No. 83 for BK Racing

Michael Annett has a new team in 2015.

HScott Motorsports announced today that Annett would be a teammate to Justin Allgaier in 2015. Allgaier drove the No. 51 for the team in 2014, its first season of Sprint Cup Series competition. Annett will be bringing sponsorship from Pilot/Flying J with him to his new team, which expands to two full-time cars.

“The addition of a second team increases HScott’s overall ability to better utilize its resources at track and at the shop to be even more competitive,” owner Harry Scott Jr. said in a statement.  “I’m proud to have seen Justin truly mature as a NSCS driver last year, and I can’t wait to see what he does this year. Like Justin, Michael is coming off his rookie year following six years of competition in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Michael is a quality driver with a great future at HScott Motorsports. These drivers compliment one another and will make great teammates.”

The team's statement also called Annett's rookie season impressive. The usage of that word is certainly open to interpretation. While we admit Annett was driving for one of the weaker Sprint Cup Series teams in Tommy Baldwin Racing in 2014, he had three top-20 finishes and an average finish of 29th.

BK Racing also announced that J.J. Yeley would pilot its No. 83 car for the 2015 season. Yeley drove in 18 Sprint Cup Series races in 2014, including the final seven in the No. 83 car. His best finish was a 29th at Kansas. In 220 races, Yeley has two top-five finishes. The last came at New Hampshire in 2008.
