Vancouver decides to keep their ban on MMA, but it's not as bad as it looks. They're looking to the province to step in and regulate instead of leaving it to city authorities. Considering that we do the same thing in the United States, it's not a ridiculous request on behalf of Vancouver.

Next Wednesday is Ultimate Fight Night 18. Warm up by reading Kevin Iole's column on Ryan Bader (pictured with an Aaron Simpson on his back), and this interview with Cole Miller.

Next week, we will have full coverage of a very full week of fighting: Ultimate Fight Night 18, the debut of the ninth season of the Ultimate Fighter, and on Sunday, WEC 40. Have a good weekend, and thanks for reading Cage Writer.
